Blue Skies Firing Rules modification

I. Firing Ranges

A. The maximum range that may be fired is ten (10) hexes. No target may be engaged beyond this range.

B. Each altitude level is the equivalent of five (5) hexes.

II. Firing Direction (see diagram to right)

A. Guns are restricted in firing to both direction and altitude.

1. Direction that guns may fire are

a. Forward (f)
b. Rear (r)
c. All Around (a)
d. Port (p)
e. Starboard (s)

2. Altitudes that guns may fire are

a. Level
b. Low
c. High
d. All altitudes (all)

B. A gun labeled to fire level can only fire at targets at higher altitudes if it has climbed or breaks the turn it fires.
C. A gun labeled to fire level can only fire at lower targets if it dives or breaks the turn it fires.

Note - B-24 guns that are labeled High or Low may also fire level, but only one gun may do so at any single target.

When a bomber has lost all of its hit points it is not destroyed. All additional hits are critical hits. Hit points rolled on the critical hit table are ignored.
